We Need To Be Proud Of Our Achievements

We Need To Be Proud Of Our Achievements

This past Friday we had our inaugural guests check in to our first bungalow at The Surf Village and it was a sprint to the finish line to deliver them the experience we’ve been envisioned for the past 15 months.

My anxiety and tension has been through the roof this past week but I managed to capture their reaction on the Ring doorbell while as they entered the property and our entire team let out a collective sigh of relief.

“Oh My God… … It’s Beautiful”.

While we have some kinks to work out and we have about a week to prepare the next two bungalows for guests, it was a much needed moment of validation for everyone’s hard work.

It’s been a little while since I launched something new into the world and all too often I look back in retrospect on how disconnected from the moment I tend to be.

I used to chalk it up to non-attachment and silently patted myself on the back for maintaining a stoic mindset, but something about the cold and empty nature of that approach has never sat quite right with me.

Granted, it’s all too easy to get caught up in our accomplishments and the ego loves positive reinforcement but, equally, I think it’s important to take a moment to revel in an achievement.

To that end, I would like to take a moment to appreciate the collective efforts of our team to push things forward each and every day.

I’m grateful, exhausted, and a little bit jealous of all of the guests who get to spend some time at The Surf Village.
